Official inauguration of the Grotowski Year in New York, organised by the Polish Cultural Institute in New York and the Department of Performance Studies at Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.

In the programme: panel discussion led by curator of the Grotowski Year in New York, Prof. Richard Schechner, with the participation of Ludwik Flaszen, Jaroslaw Fret, and Grzegorz Ziolkowski; and the opening of the photography exhibition Grotowski in Poland by Andrzej Paluchiewicz (through 20th March).

Other events during the Grotowski Year in New York will include discussions, film presentations, lectures, and workshops. The celebration will continue through 13th July, culminating at the prestigious Lincoln Centre Festival.

Subsequent meetings: April, May and July 2009.
