Francois Tanguy and Theatre du Radeau

François Tanguy’s theatrical journey is inseparably connected with the Théâtre du Radeau, where he has been directing performances since 1982. He focuses on exploring the dramaturgical possibilities in contemporary theatre. Each production is a result of collective work, arduous research on text, music, and continuous improvisation, resulting in unique forms of expression. Performances are created with precision; each piece is divided into many stages, layering in more and more new elements which finally shape the ultimate form of the production. Tanguy is both generous and demanding as an artist. He allows actors to focus on the satisfaction of the creative process, activating the imagination and emphasizing the dramatic power of poetry.
